Dracula Opens This Weekend!

Prepare yourself for the spookiest performance of the season!

The Yorkshire Playhouse eagerly presents Dracula, a classic vampire story from 1897. Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderson have reimagined Bram Stoker’s book as an exciting drama. This play first appeared on the Yorkshire Playhouse stage in 1973 during its first season and made its return in 2013. Dracula will rise from its casket once again for the Yorkshire Playhouse’s 50th season!

In this thrilling show, Dr. Van Helsing (Kelle Sweazy) searches for a cure for Lucy (Bonnie Bouc), who has contracted a mysterious illness. She believes Count Dracula (Dathan Nelson), a ghostly vampire who sucks the blood of his victims, is to blame. So ensues a riveting battle between Helsing and the Count! Can Lucy be saved?

This show features an intricate, multi-tiered set, moody lighting effects, and period costumes! Director Danielle Deal has been putting together her vision of this show since the beginning of the season. You won’t want to miss it!

For the faint of heart: fear not! Dracula, though thrilling at times, is intended for all audiences.
