Wait Until Dark - An Introduction

A child’s doll.

A phone booth.

A blind woman.

What ties these three, seemingly unrelated, items together?

The answer, of course, is the Playhouse’s upcoming winter show “Wait Until Dark” by Frederick Knott. A thrilling production centered around Susy Hendrix, a blind woman living in Greenwich Village with her photographer husband, Sam. When Sam comes home from the airport with a child’s doll, Susy doesn’t think much of it. But there are a few people who find it noteworthy.

Enter Mike, Carlino, and Roat--a trio of criminals who want that doll more than anything, as it contains something much more sinister than the typical music box and cotton stuffing. While Sam is away for the day, the criminals attempt to con Susy into giving them the doll. What will happen as they try to pull the wool over her blind eyes? Will she give them the doll, or will she get wise to their plans? The answers to these questions and much more await the audiences of “Wait Until Dark!” You’ll be on the edge of your seat during this thrilling adventure, always wondering what Susy will do next.

Tickets are available for purchase now at the online box office, and the show will take place February 15th-18th and 23rd-25th. Thursday through Saturday at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2:00pm.
