NEW SEASON: The Cemetery Club

Spring is the perfect time of year for a romantic comedy! That is precisely why the Yorkshire Playhouse chose Ivan Menchell’s The Cemetery Club for our spring production! 


The title may be misleading, but The Cemetery Club is full of hilarious plots, snarky characters, and sparks of romance. This play features a small cast with quick-witted chemistry. There’s Lucille, a loud, fun-loving old lady, and Doris, her judgemental and condescending counterpart. Together with the sweet and optimistic Ida, these ladies meet up every month for tea before visiting their husbands’ graves. Their routine trip takes an interesting turn when Sam, the local butcher, comes to visit his wife’s grave. Ida and Sam hit it off, and Doris and Lucille decide they must ambush the couple before things get too serious.


Yorkshire Playhouse will be presenting The Cemetery Club on May 14-19. This is just one of five main-season shows coming to the Yorkshire Playhouse in 2024! If you are interested in coming in a large group, or if you plan on seeing more than one show this season, consider purchasing a membership!

How much do the memberships cost?

There are three different options for memberships:

5 Tickets: $75 [You save $10]

10 Tickets: $145 [You save $25]

15 Tickets: $215 [You save $40]

Individual tickets for a main-season show are $17, but with a membership, you can buy any additional tickets for only $15! 

Which shows can I see with my membership tickets?

You can use your membership tickets on any of the five main-season shows. In 2024, that includes:

  • Pride and Prejudice by Kate Hamill–adapted from the novel by Jane Austen

  • The Cemetery Club by Ivan Menchell

  • Because Their Hearts Were Pure (or The Secret of the Mine) by Morland Cary

  • The Stranger by Agatha Christie

  • A Christmas Carol by Patrick Barlow

Why should I buy a membership?

If you see more than one show on that list that interests you, buying a membership will save you money on tickets! If you like to watch shows with your family or friends, you can also save money on a single show by purchasing all of the tickets together. We want you to save money and see more shows!
