The story takes place in the glorious days of the Belle Epoche in Paris, France. Gigi, a young girl, just completing school is being trained by her grandmother and aunt to carry on the family tradition of life as a courtesan. Through trials and tribulations, Gigi realizes that she has her own dreams for life and bravely steps out of the family business to pursue a life of love and marriage.
