Yorkshire Playhouse Children's Theatre is for children who have completed first grade to those who have completed their junior year in high-school. The aim of the Yorkshire Playhouse Children's Theatre is to teach children about theatre, performance skills, and to provide the young actors of York County an enjoyable artistic experience.

Jack Pumpkinhead of Oz is adapted from the classic children’s book by Ruth Plumley Thompson, based on the orginal Ozian characters of L. Frank Baum. Peter Brown, finds a magic sack that transports him to the land of Oz where he meets Jack Pumpkinhead. While heading to the Emerald City, they lose their way in the Quadling Country. There Peter finds that his empty sack will consume objects and creatures that are scooped into its open mouth. When the local villain, Mogodore the Mighty, and his army march to take over the Emerald City, Peter and his friends race to save the city and restore order in Oz.
