"Rabbit Hole" Review

Yorkshire Playhouse presents "Rabbit Hole"

written by David Lindsay-Abaire & directed by Mitchell Roush

“How would you react if tragedy struck; suddenly and without warning?  Can anyone really be prepared for their world to come crashing down?  Howie and Becca Corbett have had the picture perfect life, until their four year old son is killed in a tragic accident.  Life is not okay for the Corbett’s right now, but will Howie and Becca be okay in the end?

This drama will take the audience through the pain, heartbreak, and hopefully healing that can come in the aftermath of such a traumatic event.”

After I had read the summary of the show, “Rabbit Hole”, I did not know what to expect. Would I cry, would I laugh, what would I feel? I truly was hesitant about it, but as I watched the lives of Howie and Becca Corbett unfold I strangely felt not alone. Oftentimes grief is an elephant in the room that we tend to hide from and would rather sweep it under a rug. As a result grief tends to overshadow every single room of our lives. This play explores this and how we find comfort in the midst of tragedy.

I invite you to come watch this wonderful performance, “Rabbit Hole”.  The cast is superb and delivers a high caliber performance that brings to life every single character.  I became immersed in their lives, and hoped that this family would truly find healing.

Yorkshire Playhouse Playwriting Contest presents "Waking Zombies" and "I Bargained; Anticipation" scripts from their 2019 contest. Each show unveiled certain stages of life, provoked thought, evoked emotions, and left me wanting the shows to continue onto another act. Come see both shows! It’s going to be a great night of live theatre, written by two Nebraska playwrights.
